This is probably a Morel mushroom. ?It appeared on the 25th April 2010 after lots of rain. There were 3 of them and they existed for about 2 weeks until they dried out. We were too nervous to eat them because there are also False Morels. Click here to see the wikipedia entry.
Hola John, Interesting Post. I just picked up a few Halibut steaks last night and I want to cook them for my boyfriend tonight, but I don’t have any recipes or a lot of ingredients to work with and I want something great! Any ideas?
I look forward to your next post.
Sorry for not replying earlier – hope it’s not too late. What about serving it with a salsa verde, a salad and some fried potatoes. For the salsa, blend together in a food processor 3 tablespoons parsley, 1 tablespoon fresh mint, 3 tablespoons capers, 6 anchovy fillets, 1 chopped garlic clove, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard , 120ml olive oil and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Brush the halibut with oil and season with salt and pepper and grill on both sides until cooked. Happy New Year by the way.
